Percy did not - could not - trust the woman. And yet...as he glanced up at Vex again, considered how he may have felt if she'd not been here... or how long he'd refused to let himself want her because of how much damage would inevitably result, Percy had to rely instead on his trust in Vax. The rogue could be impetuous but he was always fair in matters of the heart. And he was honest with himself about what he wanted.

Percy admired it, even when he thought it was foolish.

"If you want her here, she's welcome." It was clipped and forced, but he meant it as much as he was able.
