Vax looked up, taking a breath. Kash's brusque tone was sort of comforting in its familiarity.
"I know," he sighed out again, "I know. Thanks for almost being happy for me," he lightened his tone a shade. "I'm very glad Steph agreed to come." He had looked stupidly pleased, for the most part. "It's just... New." He'd rushed her to get them to the dinner before it got too late, and that hadn't left for much discussion. That would have to come later. "And if 'the time comes,' I would hope Keyleth would still hear about it from me."
