No sooner had he said it than the tension in her person relaxed. She nodded and smiled sweetly, reaching out for his hand with both of hers. "Of course I mean to speak to her. She must feel uncertain among so many who know each other so well. Have no fear, I wish for her to feel welcome."
Vax, she thought, might be more able than Kash to find joy in another's company. How cruel, then, that of the two, dearest Zahra would be the more accepting of the need. Vax did not need her opinion on whether he ought do so. Not unless he asked. But he would at least have her support.
